      Electrical Maintenance

Routine maintenance of your electrical system is a key component of keeping your power bill low and all the devices you connect to it – like your HD TV, computers, phone chargers, stereos, etc. - safe and sound. Think of how much these items cost, some of them being substantial investments. A loose connection can interrupt power to your TV or your alarm clock. These loose connections are resistances that will heat up and slowly burn the insulation of the conductors. Loose neutrals in light fixtures can cause arcing and quickly damage the integrity of the socket. Loose connections also cause power loss that can be seen on your power bill but never utilized. Are power cords falling out of the outlets? Don’t bend the prongs! You need to replace the receptacle. All things wear out over time. Are your receptacles bonded to ground? Are they properly polarized? Do you know if what needs to be GFCI protected really is protected? Having issues with false tripping? Think of the routine maintenance you perform on your car to make it reliable and last for many years. Do you call the chimney sweep to clean the flue of your fireplace in the Fall? What you can’t see can hurt you when it comes to electricity. Call us today to see how a Preventative Maintenance Program for your home can save you money!

          Contract Staff

I know what you’re thinking – you’re not an employer. However, if you’ve hired a contractor to build or renovate your home, you actually are. Why not hire a representative that will look after your needs and protect your investment while you’re at work or living elsewhere. We can monitor the contractor’s movements, such as when they come and go, track their progress and report to you on anything that will end up costing you more money or delay the schedule. As our contract staff are trained and certified in electrical inspection, this is added value to you at no additional cost. They are also certified National Construction Safety Officers, so we can watch over the safety of the workers on your property, as well. The cost to have us on-site representing you is far cheaper than delays, damages or errors. If you haven't checked to see if the contractor you hired has a WCB account in good standing or if they haven't paid their employees or suppliers, you could be liable for all their debts. Don't take chances. We can tailor our services to meet your needs!

            Thermographic Imaging

Do you know what is lurking in your walls or behind the cover of your electrical panel? Neither do we. But what we can do is take a thermographic photograph of any heat generated by loose wires and connections without taking the covers off! We like the old adage: “don’t fix what ain’t broke”. Sometimes, opening a cover or taking off a plate can do more damage than what was intended. Screw heads deform or snap off. Paint peels away. It will take twice as long to repair the damage, especially if there wasn't a problem in the first place. But with our sophisticated digital thermographic camera, we can look right through the walls, through the covers and plates, to see if anything is wrong BEFORE we take anything apart. We will ALWAYS recommend fixing anything worn out or broken, and this technology is perfect to get a baseline of your home’s electrical health. It’s a very small price to pay for peace of mind.
